Xavian Leigh Draper Sentenced to Sixty Years for Sex Crimes Against a Child

[NEWPORT NEWS – JUNE 16, 2023] A retired Air Force Colonel was sentenced to a total prison time of sixty years, with fifty-one years suspended, for the aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13 years old. On December 16, 2022, Xavian Leigh Draper pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child. Today at sentencing, the Court heard testimony and arguments from the defense and the prosecution, reviewed victim impact statements, and considered a pre-sentence report before pronouncing sentence.

After considering the evidence, the Court imposed a total sentence of sixty years with fifty-one suspended. Upon release from prison, Draper will be on probation for five years and must submit to sex offender treatment and sex offender registration.
