Newport News, Virginia

On January 4, 2013, Judge C. Peter Tench sentenced Adore Pope to nine years and two months for two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.   Mr. Pope pleaded guilty to the offenses.  The charges resulted from two separate offenses occurring on July 17, 2011 and from another offense occurring on August 7, 2011.  In each robbery, Mr. Pope and another man approached the victims with a firearm and demanded their property.  In the two offenses that occurred on July 17, both victims were robbed as they were exiting their vehicles at their homes.  Mr. Pope pawned the property from those robberies, which led to his arrest.  On August 7, Mr. Pope robbed an acquaintance.  The other assailant was never identified.
